Prisoner Wine Dinner at Cannon Green

Whenever I travel to a new place, I allocate a good portion of my itinerary to food. There is nothing I love more than exploring new tastes, trying out local cuisine, and discovering a new favorite meal. And living in Charleston has certainly given me the opportunity to do just that! (More to come on the restaurant roundup.)

On Saturday night, a few friends and I attended a dinner at Cannon Green, a restaurant I had heard nothing but wonderful things about, but had yet to visit. The event featured a five-course menu paired with wines from Napa Valley's Prisoner Wine Company. Throughout each course, we were introduced to each of the five prisoner labels, The Prisoner, Blindfold, Cuttings, Saldo, and Thorn, with each course representing a different experience. To top it all off, Cannon Green is an absolutely beautiful space – the perfect mix of modern and traditional southern – and the snapshot below hardly begins to give justice to the space that they created for this intimate dinner.

Sharing meals and making memories with new (and old) friends is something that makes me incredibly happy, and I'm so fortunate to have the opportunity for so much of that living in Charleston.

As someone who rarely touches red meat, I could have gone home sans lamb; but hey, it was all part of the experience!
